3 Easy Credit Cards to Get

approvedMany credit cards report information to all three of the major credit bureaus every month. This means that you can build your credit if you pay your bills on time and do not max out your card. In fact, credit cards are the most efficient way for consumers to build credit. Of course, they can also damage your credit if you misuse them. If you have damaged credit, you will need to find one of the credit cards that are easy to get. Here are three of the cards that are easiest to get:

1. Store Credit Cards
This type of plastic comes with lower approval criteria than traditional cards. Another benefit of these cards is that they often come with a substantial discount on your first purchase after you get the card. The retailer may also provide you with additional rewards when you shop with them. Unfortunately, store credit cards do come with drawbacks including the fact that the interest rates are usually higher. This means that you will have to be careful about how you use the card or you may find yourself stuck with high finance charges.

Kohl’s Charge Card is a store credit card that gets good reviews. When you get this card, Kohl’s will give you a 20 percent discount on your next order. You will also get a 15 percent off coupon with your card along with additional discounts throughout the year. There is no annual fee on the Kohl’s Charge Card.

2. Gas Credit Cards
Your options here include general credit cards that provide rewards for different purchases including gas, and brand-specific cards. Brand-specific cards are similar to store credit cards in that they are easy to get and you earn rewards for buying gas and making other purchases. You may want to opt for the brand-specific cards if you regularly purchase gas from a particular store and the card offers good rewards. Some cards allow you to get discounts on your gas instead of rewards. Making small purchases is the best way to build credit with these cards. You should use the card a few times a month and make sure to pay your bill in full. This helps with the establishment of a positive payment record. Remember that in order to build your credit, you will want to spend less than 10 percent of your credit line each month.

The Credit One Bank Platinum Credit Card is very easy to get, even if you have bad credit. You can even get pre-qualified without it affecting your credit score. You will get 1 percent back when you purchase gas along with the ability to increase your credit limit. It does have a few drawbacks in that it comes with a high APR (17.9 percent to 23.9 percent) and you will have to pay a $15 fee to increase your credit limit. The Chevron and Texaco Regular Card is an example of a brand-specific card that you can get even with bad credit. It can only be used at Chevron and Texaco gas stations, so you should make sure that they have locations in your area before applying. Approval is easy and you get 10c per gallon in rewards during your first 60 days.

3. Secured Credit Cards
Secured credit cards require that you make a cash deposit to secure your line of credit. However much you deposit, that is the amount of your credit line. If you pay your bill on time, you may be able to qualify for an unsecured card after about a year. When choosing a secured credit card, look for one that reports to the major credit bureaus.

The Capital One Secured MasterCard comes with relatively few fees and allows you to qualify for increases in your credit limit. If your payments are on time, you can get these increases without making extra deposits. The annual fee is $29 and there is no over-limit fee and no fees for balance transfers or foreign transactions.
